Despite the disappointment of missing out on the National League One title, Rosslyn Park coach Alex Codling was delighted to comfortably dispose of Cinderford – a side who were struggling for survival.

Tries from Dave Vincent (two), Dom Shabbo, Adam Bellamy, Jack Gash, Tom Baldwin, Darrell Ball, Sam Shires, plus 12 extras from Scott Sneddon sealed the 52-17 win.

However, it was not enough to overcome leaders Doncaster Knights, who won at Blackheath to claim the title and the solitary promotion spot.

Codling said: “To score five tries in the first half showed how much the boys wanted it and how determined they were to push Doncaster all the way.

“They did everything we wanted them to do and played the type of rugby they have showed they can produce all season.

“The energy put in to the first half in particular showed the boys’ desire to step up and produce when it matters most.”
