An excellent performance at Tiffin Boys School saw Richmond U16 girls A and B teams go through to the second round of the prestigious English Volleyball National u16 Championships.

Richmond A registered 2-0 victories over Camden School for Girls (London), Nottingham Rockets (Nottinghamshire), Tendring VC (Essex) and Richmond Team B, whilst Rchmond B (Marymount International) won 3 matches.

The girls will now travel to Ashcombe (Dorking) on Saturday 16 January 2010 in the hope of qualifying for the quarter finals of the u16 National Junior Championship Finals.

Richmond coach commented. "I’m very proud of these girls especially that that 5 girls fall in the u15 age group.

"The girls have been selected from the successful Richmond and Kingston Schools Sport Partnership Volleyball programme delivered by Richmond Volleyball and national girls teams are sponsored by Marymount International School (Kingston).

"Since establishing 12 months ago a Volleyball Centre of Excellence at Tiffin Boys Schools we are now seeing the progress of our junior players with over 60 junior girls & boys training regularly at u18, u16, u15 and u14 age groups."
