Chris Grassick scored 14 goals in eight games but it was not enough to prevent Surbiton’s swift return to Indoor Fives Division One, writes Sean Cotter.
Surbiton lost all of their remaining four Premier League games at Burton’s St George’s Park over last weekend to finish bottom of the table after promotion last year.
They lost 7-1 to champions East Grinstead and 6-4 to Sevenoaks on Saturday, before going down 4-2 and 4-3 to Reading and Beeston on Sunday respectively.
The women head to Nottingham Trent University on Saturday for the first weekend of their indoor season as they bid to secure promotion from Division One.
They face Bristol, Ipswich, Buckingham and Leicester.
