Graeme Banyard labelled Banstead Athletic's 11-0 defeat at Windsor on Saturday as one of the most embarrassing days of his football career.
The As have not enjoyed a good start to the season since Banyard returned to the management hotseat in the summer and the latest defeat left them third bottom.
They bounced back with a 2-0 win over Hartley Wintney in the League Cup on Tuesday but it was Saturday's humbling, in which they had a man sent off after 20 minutes, that left Banyard scratching
"It was one of the most embarrassing days of my life in football - and I have had a few of them," he said.
"Confidence is a bit low at the moment and after we had a man sent off it was like the charge of the Alamo.
"You should never lose by that amount even if you are down to 10 men.
"It's been difficult so far as we have had a lot of new players and sometimes they come together quickly and sometimes they don't.
"I never thought it would be this difficult to get the players I want at this club - they would rather sit on the bench in the Ryman Leagues playing one game in three rather than week in, week out
in the Combined Counties League."
