Carshalton Athletic interim manager Ian Hazel feels his young side should keep believing in themselves after a 1-1 draw with Met Police on Saturday.
Substitute Ben Kudjodji grabbed his second goal in a week with a measured lob to give Carshalton a share of the spoils after they trailed their visitors for more than 50 minutes.
The point did little to alleviate Carshalton’s plight at the bottom of the Ryman Premier League, but it did stretch the club's unbeaten run to three games.
“We conceded after 19 minutes and things weren’t working for us so we altered our formation after half-hour and we became more of an attacking threat,” Hazel said.
“Ben took his goal well and it was that kind of confidence we tried to instil within all the lads at half-time.”
Carshalton, as well as continuing their unbeaten run, have only conceded one goal in that time, another benchmark Hazel thinks the players should be proud of.
“If a team stays unbeaten then it’ll pick up wins along the way,” he added.
“This could be a valuable point for us come the end of the season and I cannot fault the attitude shown by the lads to earn it.”
Carshalton's next action comes in the FA Trophy second qualifying round as they entertain Egham Town on November 2.
