Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson will run the rule of former Ks winger Charlie Knight when Brentford's U21s visit the Beveree on Wednesday.
Knight, who helped Kingstonian finish second in the Ryman Premier League in 2014, is expected to play 45 minutes as is former Staines Town man Luke Neville.
Dowson is anticipating a tough test and a big crowd at Station Road, despite the Bees' first team Championship squad being in Portugal for a pre-season tour.
The club's U21s, who will stage home games at the Beveree this season, have been in impressive form over the last few seasons.
And the Hampton manager is pleased with how his men are shaping up already ahead of their first pre-season clash of the summer.
"Charlie is a good lad and I know very well what he can do from his time with me at Kingstonian," he said.
"I've been very impressed by the work rate the lads have shown in training. I cannot fault them
"Wednesday should be a fantastic occasion for the club and I think there will be a decent crowd, too.
"It is all very well doing well in training, but the boys have now got to show what they are a capable of in a match.
"We have a friendly tournament at Corinthian Casuals at the weekend and then I have got to nail down my 18-man squad to face Aldershot Town next week.
"This is a chance for the player to make sure they are in there."
