Julian Speroni: Unlucky to see his save from Waghorn fall to Berner to score and made a few other decent saves as well. 7

Danny Butterfield: Started at left back in the first half and defended solidly, doing well to stop Dyer when he was the last man. Got forward in the second half to put crosses in but wasted a free kick in a good position late on. 7

Claude Davis: He got wound up by Leicester and paid the price for a moment of petulance when he should have kept his head cool. Cost Palace any chance of a point. 4

Clint Hill: Was the driving force behind the side, leading from the back. He got in plenty of blocks and headers and was the main reason Palace only lost 1-0. Had the best chance to equalise with a header from a corner well saved by Weale. Man of the match. 8

Nathaniel Clyne: The few times Palace attacked in the first half it came through him but forced off at half time with a groin strain that hopefully isn't serious. 7

Shaun Derry: Gave the ball away a lot but was always trying to encourage his side as they sought for the equaliser. 6

Johnny Ertl: Like Derry he gave the ball away a lot but improved after the break and tried to get Palace on the front foot. Could have done better with a snap shot late on. 6

Neil Danns: He tried to make a difference but found it hard going and disappeared for long periods of the game. 5

Darren Ambrose: Apart from having a shot cleared off the line he was anonymous until the last half hour when he suddenly woke up before being harshly subbed. Needs to work on his tracking back as Berner got in behind him too often. 5

Calvin Andrew: Is always willing to put in the work but looked lost when playing out on the wing. Moved up front on his own after Leicester scored and continued to work but is not a goal threat. 6

Alan Lee: Very isolated and was forced to keep running between the defenders as they passed the ball around him. 6

Subs:

Matt Lawrence (Lee, h-t): Made an excellent block to deny Dyer and Palace look more solid with him beside Hill. 6

Lee Hills (Clyne, h-t): Bounced back from this horror show at Doncaster and put in an assured display both defensively and going forward. Crossing has improved. 6

Sean Scannell (Ambrose, 80): Added a bit of pace and gave Leicester something else to think about. 6
