Sutton United took a point off the Skrill South leaders Eastleigh at Gander Green Lane, despite playing with 10 men for 70 minutes.

United, who were also missing skipper Jamie Stuart as a result of the shoulder injury sustained in mid-week, lost Mitchell Nelson to a straight red card early on in proceedings.

Only minutes before, United had also lost Jamie Taylor to injury and it was not long after Nelson's dismissal that United would lose a goal.

However, Craig Dundas levelled matters from the penalty spot just after the break after Damian Scannell - on for the injured Taylor - was sent sprawling in the area.

United had a chance to win the match late on when Jamie Folkes found himself through one on one, only for the Eastleigh keeper to block his effort.

United remain fourth in the Skrill South, six points behind the new leaders Bromley.

This weekend is the small matter of the FA Cup first round proper at Kidderminster Harriers.
