Kingston's Law rules South East Schools Championships

First published in Sport

Surrey U17 cross-country champion Phoebe Law is ready to take on the nation after her latest cross country triumph, writes Stuart Amos.

The 17-year-old, in fine form this winter, sprinted home to claim South East Schools Inter County Cross-Country Championship U20 girls gold on Saturday – despite being one of the youngest competitors in the race.

Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harrier Law, below, clocked 11 minutes 55 seconds to win in Southampton, just a week after claiming U17 girls silver at the  South of England Championships.

Kingston’s Mollie O’Sullivan, 13, clocked 10:22 to claim U15 girls silver and she and Law will be looking to repeat their good form in the final Surrey Ladies League Division Two meeting in Croydon tomorrow.

Neil Wellard, 16, warmed up for the final Surrey Men’s League meeting of the season at Lloyd Park this weekend, with a 12th place finish  in U17 men’s race in a solid time of 15:59.

Kingston’s senior men face a crunch weekend in an otherwise miserable cross-country campaign, which has left them staring at relegation from Division One.
Walton Athletics Club’s men and women and Elmbridge Road Runners are also in action in Lloyd Park.
