Tadworth AC’s Geoff Newton took third place in the men’s over-65 class at the South of England Masters cross-country championships at Woodford in Essex.
Overall, he finished 55th in 42 minutes, 11 seconds for the 10K race.
The club will be holding its annual Tadworth 10-mile race on January 6, starting at 11.30am from Tattenham Corner.
The challenging multi-terrain race takes in the Epsom Downs, Walton-on-the-Hill and Tadworth, and attracts an entry of over 700 runners. Entries can be made online at www.tadworth.org.uk
Tadworth’s David Freeman won the Banstead Woods parkrun in 18.04, while the women’s race was won by Mary James of Collingwood AC in 20.32.
