Two children who died after being found stabbed in their Carshalton home have been officially named.
Shanjayan Navaneethan, five, and his four-year-old sister Sharani were attacked at their home Park Lane, Carshalton home on Friday night.
Their mum, Sasikala Navaneethan has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
The 35-year-old's six-month old baby daughter, also found stabbed, is in a serious condition in hospital.
Despite all three children being rushed to hospital, Shanjayan and Sharani died within 15 minutes of each other shortly after arrival.
Mrs Navaneethan is due to be transferred to a secure psychiatric hospital according to police.
"She will go to a secure mental health facility where she will undergo further assessment and receive any treatment that might be needed.
"We will still continue to investigate the circumstance of what happened," a Met Police spokesman said on Monday.
Both Mrs Navaneethan and her husband 39-year-old Navarajah Navaneethan were arrested after the grim discovery.
Mr Navaneethan, who runs a newsagent in Coulsdon, was released without charge after questioning.
The couple are thought to be Tamils from Sri Lanka who moved to Britain a few years ago and moved into their two-storey detached house in Park Lane, Carshalton, two years ago.
Mr Navaneethan's business is thought to have suffered when the £33m Coulsdon bypass opened at the end of their road, killing their passing trade.
