A teenage girl missing from Blackpool for more than six months may have been spotted in Sutton.

Police are appealing for information about Paige Chivers, 16, who was reported missing from her Blackpool home in August last year.

Blackpool police Detective Constable Mark Kelsall said following a television missing person appeal, a woman out shopping in Sutton spotted a girl of Paige's description going into McDonald's in the high street.

What triggered the shopper's memory was that the girl had a distinctive Playboy' tattoo with the word Playgirl' underneath on the back of her neck, just like Paige.

Paige, who lives with her father, went missing from her home in Blackpool on August 23.

Apart from a number of sightings in the town shortly afterwards, the report from Sutton is the first sighting since she left home.

D Con Kelsall said the girl was seen to be wearing a white top with tassles around the waist, black leggings and brown leather-type sandals.

Paige is described as 5ft 4in to 5ft 5in tall, slim build, with blonde hair with dark streaks tied at the back with a clip.

D Con Kelsall urged anyone who may have seen Paige to come forward.

He also appealed to any local teenage girls to get in touch if they have a similar tattoo on the back of their neck - information which could rule out whether it was Paige who was seen.
