Fire crews were called to a garage block in Surbiton this week after the body of a man was found by police.
The body was found at around 7pm on Thursday evening hanging from rafters in a garage in King Charles Road.
It is thought that the body had been there since Christmas Day and police called for the assistance of the fire brigade to cut it down and remove it.
A spokesman for the brigade said: "The body had been there for a week but because it has been so cold it had not deteriorated."
