A campaign to deliver some Christmas joy to disadvantaged children has been launched by a self storage company in Merton.

Access Self Storage, which has stores in Mitcham and Wimbledon, is calling on residents to support their Christmas appeal for The Children’s Society by donating unused toys and games two months ahead of the festive season.

In 2011, Access Self Storage stores across the UK collected over 5,000 toys and even received donations of signed boxes of ‘fashion Barbies’ from couture designer Julien MacDonald.

Carlos Sousa, manager at the Mitcham store said: "We’ve created special drop-off points in our stores, where all the donations will be collected, sorted and delivered to The Children’s Society shops in the local area.

"Last year was such a success as we had over 150 gifts donated.

"Hopefully we can do even better this year."

Residents can made donations at drop off points at each store at 141 Morden Road, Mitcham, CR4 4DG, and at Unit 1, Gresham Way, Wimbledon, SW19 8DW.
