Students ran 2012km to raise money for Sports Relief in memory of a teacher who died of cancer.

The Brandlehow Primary School pupils, parents and staff took to Wandsworth Park, in Putney Bridge Road, last Friday dressed in pink or as superheroes.

Earlier in the week runners raced around the park to rack up the miles to reach the 2012km aim while enjoying the sunshine.

About 400 people took part, with a mix of youngsters aged three-years-old to 11.

It is the fifth year the school has raised money for charity at what has become an annual event in memory of teacher Debbie Coughlan who died of cancer in 2008.

The school has raised £15,000 since starting the fund-raising event, with money being donated to Trinity Hospice and Sport Relief.

Runners are bidding to raise £4000 this year, double the amount they raised in 2011.

Amit Patel, PE co-ordinator said: "It went really well, the weather was awesome which helps.

"We had the entire school and parents, we went all out."
