By Mike Tilcock, Yorkshire Road, Pollards Hill
In the past, the roads of Pollards Hill were swept after the weekly refuse had been collected.
However, these days I regularly see the roads being swept on Friday morning, before the dustmen have collected the refuse.
This means that those bits that are dropped by the dustmen litter the roads of Pollards Hill until at least Monday.
This has been reported to the local councillors and to Council officers many times by me personally and through Phoenix (the local Residents' Association) but nothing is done!
Incidentally, if our roads were properly cleaned then there wouldn't be weeds several inches high growing at the kerbsides.
I'm sure that such a state of affairs wouldn't happen in leafy Wimbledon Village or Merton Park would it?
