The long arm of the law will be put under strain next month as police take part in a charity tug of war competition.
Merton Police’s safer neighbourhood team (SNT) for Wimbledon Village will be in action at 1.30pm at the Wimbledon and Putney Common Stables Open Day on Sunday, September 4, to help raise funds for Hounds for Heroes.
The charity aims to provide assistance from specially trained dogs for injured and disabled men and women serving in the armed forces and emergency services.
Sergeant Adrian Sutherland, who leads Wimbledon Village SNT, said: “This is a great annual family event, which thisyear will hopefully raise funds for a very deserving charity.
“We look forward to meeting lots of supporters to come and cheer for our Tug of War team, or come and take part themselves.”
