A community is already planning its next royal celebration after a successful street party.
Residents in Raynes Park are set to bring out the bunting again next year for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, which will be celebrated on the first weekend in June.
A message from the event organisers on the Elm Walk street party’s website said: “From the feedback we got we’re assuming everyone is up for another street party next year so hang on to the bunting and keep [that weekend] free.”
A raffle at Friday’s celebration - which featured food, games, fancy dress and a Punch and Judy show - raised £240 for Merton Portage, a charity for children with special educational needs.
