Two journalists were released on bail last night after being questioned on suspicion of phone hacking.
News of the World chief reporter Neville Thurlbeck, 49, voluntarily attended Kingston police station for questioning where he was arrested.
Ian Edmondson, 42, former news editor of the News of the World, was questioned at Wimbledon police station.
There were reports their homes were being searched but there was no sign of police officers at Mr Thurlbeck's home, in Manor Drive, Hinchley Wood.
Neighbours speaking yesterday afternoon said they had not seen any police cars or police activity at the house.
Neither men were charged and were bailed to return in September.
