A Croydon man claims he can heal serious injuries using just the power of his mind.

Niall Jerrard who calls himself Niall Magic, said he discovered his gift while living in Bulgaria.

He said his fiancee was told by an astrologer he would become a great healer and would soon be famous around the world for his power.

The self-styled healing guru, who would not give his age, said he started trying to heal people and was amazed by the results.

He said: “I specialise in injuries that can’t be treated by medical means.

“A lot of the people I have cured have come to the end of the line with traditional medicine and are still in pain.

“People are calling it in the realm of miracles but even I don’t believe it.

"I was the first to question it but when I tried it, it worked.

"I have helped people with arthritis, hip problems, all sorts of injuries that doctors couldn’t cure.

“When I’m healing, I just focus, nothing is really going through my mind.

"Basically it is just an energy of some sort.” he said.

Mr Jerrard, who would not discuss his life prior to discovering his “talent”, said although he had treated few people in this country he was a big hit in Bulgaria, even claiming he had to leave his house only at night to avoid the crowds.

The room Mr Jerrard is staying in near Woodside Green, South Norwood was given to him by the woman whom he cured of a long-term hip problem.

Fiona McFadden, 62, said: “I fell down an open manhole cover almost 15 years ago but at the time doctors said there was nothing they could see that was damaged.

“The pain continued for years and then another doctor offered me a hip replacement after it was discovered I had fractured my hip.

“Niall’s treatment considerably lessened the pain and made a significant difference to my life.”

The treatment, originally costing Miss McFadden £600, went so well she told Mr Jerrard that instead of the money he could have a room for life at her Croydon home.

Mr Jerrard said: “I want to take my gift around the world.

“For people like footballers and sportsman who are told their career could end as the result of an injury my power is perfect.”

A spokesman for the British Medical Association said: “If anyone has concerns about their health, in the first instance they should always go to a trained medical professional such as their GP or visit their nearest hospital."
