Indian restaurant Kahani offers an alluring journey through the diverse and vibrant flavours of Indian cuisine in the heart of Chelsea.

My friend and I headed to the Sloane Square restaurant on Saturday night and were greeted by an elegant yet inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable dining experience.

Led by acclaimed chef Peter Joseph, Kahani seamlessly blends traditional Indian cooking techniques with modern flair, resulting in dishes that are both familiar and innovative.

The menu is a celebration of India's culinary heritage, featuring everything from classic curries to contemporary creations.

We started our culinary adventure with the Trio of chicken tikka - tandoor grilled chicken supreme with cream cheese, pickling spices & Rajasthani chops – and, my personal favourite, the signature Tandoori Broccoli, which is a delightful twist on a traditional favourite.

Wimbledon Times:

The charred florets are perfectly complemented by a tangy yogurt dressing, creating a symphony of flavours that dance on your palate.

As we awaited our mains and sipped on the finest glass of Pinot Grigio from Italy, we took in our surroundings, which featured a large, open space, stacked with plenty of seating areas, and a huge electric fireplace which complimented the relaxing atmosphere.

Wimbledon Times:

For mains, we enjoyed the Kerala Prawn masala with shallots, tomatoes, turmeric, green chilli & curry leaves; Lahori Nihari, which is lamb shank slow cooked with onion, yogurt, black and green cardamom; and a creamy, cheesy sag paneer.

Wimbledon Times:

The prawns were tender and drenched in a delicious sauce, and the lamb practically melted in my mouth with every bite – each dish featured a vibrant blend of spices and was grilled to perfection.

On the side, of course, we had to have some poppadom’s, Pulao rice, and a cheese chilli nan - each of these dishes were priced at £5 and worth every penny.

Service at Kahani is impeccable, with attentive staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of extraordinary.

Wimbledon Times:

Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a taste of India, Kahani is sure to impress.

Despite our stomachs feeling extremely satisfied, we had to try a dessert, as the Date & walnut toffee pudding which was paired with apple sauce, jalebi ice cream, was calling our name.

Wimbledon Times: Overall, Kahani offers five-star food, and a five-star service.

It is a culinary journey through India's rich and diverse flavours, expertly crafted by chef Peter Joseph.

With its elegant ambiance, impeccable service, and mouth-watering dishes, it's no wonder Kahani has quickly become a favourite dining destination in Chelsea.
