Spots of blood and empty cartridge casings have been found on a road where a shooting took place yesterday afternoon.
Armed police swarmed on Mitcham Lane at 3.10pm on Wednesday, September 14, after shots were heard being fired in broad daylight.

Despite confirming today (September 15) that blood and cartridge casings were found nearby, the Metropolitan Police said no one has been arrested and they are not aware of any injuries.

Witness Mike Padhiar, who works for Nicholls Motor Spares in Mitcham Lane, told the Wimbledon Guardian yesterday that he heard several shots being fired before police warned everyone to stay indoors.
Police were also seen breaking down a front door next to the Sainsbury’s Local on Mitcham Lane as they searched for the gunman.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan police said: “We are not aware of any person injured. However, a number of shell casings were recovered and blood spots were identified at the location.”
Mitcham Lane was closed to traffic and pedestrians until 4.30pm, with buses diverted in the area.
