A woman from Raynes Park was won a national carers award for her dedication to caring for her family.
Stephanie Nimmo, 47, has four children, two of which have autistic spectrum disorder. Another daughter, Daisy, has a rare and life-limiting condition called Costello Syndrome, which means she is confined to a wheelchair.
Mrs Nimmo won the Parent/Carer of the Year award at last year’s Merton Community Awards after being nominated by her husband Andy, 52, who was diagnosed with incurable bowel cancer in November 2014.
Mr Nimmo sadly died in December last year.
Now Mrs Nimmo has won a LloydsPharmacy National Carers Award, which she received at a gala awards dinner at the Millenium Hotel in Mayfair on Thursday, May 26.

Mrs Nimmo said: “I had no idea I had been nominated until I received the phone call, and when they said I had won, I was overjoyed.
“It feels a little odd to be a winner. I’ve supported my children for many years.
“I’ve always felt appreciated by my family, but this award just really cements that.”
She was nominated for the award by her close friend Sarah Collins, who said: “Steph is an inspirational woman, a wonderful friend, a polite yet powerful warrior campaigning for respect for young people with additional needs and an incredible mother and carer.

Mrs Nimmo received a trophy and £1,000 in high street vouchers, as well as a one-night stay at a luxury hotel in London for the ceremony.
She also had the opportunity to visit 10 Downing Street at meet with Alistair Burt MP, the minister of state for community and social care.
Mrs Nimmo ran the London Marathon in April this year, to raise money for Shooting Star Chase Children’s Hospice which has been supporting her family.
