A Toyota Prius flipped over outside south Wimbledon tube station last night after hitting a kerb.
Its driver was taken to hospital after the accident at around 5pm. Twitter user Andrew @mehbo took these pictures of the aftermath of the crash.
Nadem Kham, owner of Merton Minicabs opposite the station said the Prius was being driver by a cab driver.
He said: "He was driving from Kingston Road turning right into Morden Road and as he turned there's a bollard.
"The car clipped that and tilted over. It's happened twice around here.
"The driver was injured and taken to hospital.
"[Our] drivers were talking yesterday and showing concern that these things are dangerous."
He also said by coincidence the last driver to clip the safety pillar was also a Prius driver.
