A few hay bales, a beer tent and a couple of food stalls were the recipe for a relaxed afternoon in what could be mistaken for a country village.
The noise of Morden was hidden behind the walls of Morden Hall Park for the day and live music from bands chosen by owners of the Bedford pub in Balham was all that was needed to entertain festival-goers well into the evening.

The National Trust and Battersea brewers Sambrook’s hosted the small event on Saturday, August 30, which featured a competition for home brewers, stalls with handmade gifts on and a bouncy castle and rides for the children.
Refreshments were available to purchase from The Fish Club, Pizza Rover and Burger Boys, alongside sweet treats from CakeTails and Drum & Kernel.

Duncan Sambrook, founder of Sambrook’s, said: "I am thrilled to be back at Morden Hall Park for our second year with Beer by the River, and our home brew competition added to the excitement of the whole event."
