We are told constantly that the number of old people is increasing year by year, and yet our Guild has decided to close its Day Centre and the transport service that got people there.

It is quite beyond credibility.

For most of these old folk, a visit to the Day Centre was the highlight of their week, where they could meet friends, chat, laugh, and even have singsongs.

Now what have they to look forward to?

Apparently the plan is to turn the Day Centre at Guild House into a drop-in cafe.

Is this really what the Guild means with its slogan 'Caring for people in need'?

Its good reputation will be shattered by this decision, and so will the lives of many of the old people.

I beg the powers that be to reconsider this decision. It is not worthy of them.
