Who does Alan Pontent think he is criticising Hartshorn's Butchers that has served this community for the past 81 years?
I have been using Hartshorn's for over 40 years and was very sad to see it close, as I was with the fishmongers and the baker's in Durham road.
You could go to Hartshorn's see the same friendly faces. You could buy as much or as little as you wanted, they would cut the meat to any size you wanted you could buy four sausages and two rashers of bacon. In supermarkets you have to buy the weight they have in the pre-packed meat; they are dictating to us the size and cuts of meat we buy. When I used to buy fish in Tesco they would not cut the fish to size I wanted.
I also think it was very rude of Alan Pontent to ask in the shop about moving next to the station.
I would like to say thank you to boys for the great service they gave to us all.
