Olympic rower Sophie Hosking has unveiled a commemorative plaque on a post box painted gold in her honour.
Wimbledon born Hosking officially unveiled the plaque on the post box in Worple Road outside Elys in Wimbledon this morning..
The former Wimbledon Guardian paper girl took home a gold medal in the Women’s Lightweight Double Sculls Rowing.
Royal Mail painted 110 post boxes gold to commemorate Olympic and Paralympic gold medal winners in their home towns which will remain gold permanently.
She said: "I’m absolutely delighted that my post box is now permanently gold and the plaque is a great reminder of a wonderful summer last year.
"I know the residents of Wimbledon are just as proud of the post box as I am."
