An art exhibition created by people with learning difficulties has taken pride of place at Merton Council's offices.
Seventeen pieces of art work, produced as part of Merton Mencap’s Wimbledon Art Centre Exhibition, were hung this week in the office of the council leader Stephen Alambritis, who also hosted a viewing.
The exhibit featured a series of mono-prints as part of a project to give people with learning disabilities the chance to discover the arts, including sketching, painting, photography and media art.
Councillor Alambritis said: "I want to extend a huge thank you to the very talented and creative members of the Wimbledon Art Project for producing these beautiful mono-prints.
"They've really lifted the atmosphere of the office making it a lovely place to work from."
Coun David Williams, the mayor of Merton, said: "It was a great pleasure to meet the artists and see their wonderful works of art.
"Every week, as I visit people around the borough, I see so much talent in Merton, something our borough can be very proud of."
