By Miss A. L. Shergold, Morden

May I through your newspaper say a "huge thank you" to a fairy godmother.

During the afternoon of New Year's Eve I was in Wimbledon, shopping with my fiancé and six-year-old niece.

We had planned to go to Wimbledon theatre to book some tickets for the pantomime when we had finished our shopping.

While we were still shopping, a lady approached me asking me if I wanted some tickets for the pantomime. They were for that evening’s performance.

The lady told me that she bought the tickets but was unable to use them. In her words, it was a long story. This kind person did not want payment for them.

There were three adult tickets for £42.50 each and one child’s ticket for £32.50. On the tickets was her name Ms Karen Hirst.

We were able to use the tickets and it was an excellent performance.

In this day and age, it is good to know that there are lovely people and such kindness.

So Ms Karen Hirst, many thanks for your kindness and generosity. I would like to wish a happy and healthy new year.
