A team of roofers has thanked residents for their “amazing generosity” after a flood of clothes were donated for the homeless this Christmas.
Irene Strank, from Paul Strank Roofing in Weir Road, Wimbledon, said she was overwhelmed by the response to their Coat Appeal, run in conjunction with the OneLife charity.
Donations included a coat owned by Merton Council leader, Stephen Alambritis.
Mrs Strank said: “I want to say a massive thank you to all those people in the community who have supported this good cause.
“People have been donating sleeping bags, coats, jackets and scarfs and we are now going to continue the appeal into February.”
