So, today is supposedly the most depressing of the year. And how can we make you feel better? Lots of cute pictures of animals ought to do it.

We’ve not picked one Pet of the Week this week – instead here’s a selection of the candidates we’ve been sent. We hope you enjoy them.

Wimbledon Times:

This is Blossom, a three-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel enjoying the snow. He lives with Nerine and James in Twickenham and loves chasing squirrels in the nearby parks.

Wimbledon Times:

Say hi to Dixie, Ebony Lyons’ 10-week-old Bengal-cross kitten and an honorary member of the communications team at Epsom and St Helier hospitals. He is playful and loves a cuddle.

Wimbledon Times:

Suzan Lyle’s 10-year-old twin cats Harry and Shadow love to destroy her house when she’s not there.

Wimbledon Times:

Labrador Milo’s special talent is taking letters out of the letterbox and bringing them (unchewed) to Tracey Scott, from Wallington. He also puts her partner’s hat off the radiator when he knows it is walk time.

Wimbledon Times:

This is Mr Basil Jenkins. He likes double cream and naps.

Wimbledon Times:

Freda from Hampton named her cat Buzz because he walks around the garden making a noise like a bee.

Wimbledon Times:

Six-month-old puppy Magnus, from Richmond, loves chasing pigeons and geometric floor tiles. He does not like when owner Suzy cleans the windows.

Wimbledon Times:

Martin Pezet’s cat Murgatroyd – aka The Fluffy Princess - likes radiators. And sleep.

Wimbledon Times:

Naomi from Leatherhead’s cat Leo can open cupboard doors and steal food and his best friend is a dog.

Wimbledon Times:

Sphynx cat Rossi likes being part of the family and riding in the car.

Wimbledon Times:

Jasmine Holmes-Parker's cat Star, from Sutton, dislikes hairdryers and being woken up.
