London Scottish loose forward Luke Frost is sure the club are close to getting it right.

Following the 29-19 defeat at Nottingham, Scottish welcome bottom of the table Jersey Reds to the RAG this Saturday hoping for their first win of the season.

Frost believes that there are positives to take from the second half showing against Nottingham and they’re a sign of good things to come.

“When we get it right, we are really good,” he said.

“It’s just about stringing it together for 80 minutes.

“If we can sort out our start we should be in really good shape. There’s a few mistakes here and there, but if we tidy them up we will be a really good outfit.”

Old demons resurfaced for Scottish as they put a forgetful first half display in that ultimately cost them the game.

For the second week running Scottish frustrated as they ‘didn’t get off the bus’ in the first forty as Nottingham climbed to seventh.

Second half tries from Rob Stevenson, Billy Harding and Mark Bright showed the attacking threat they do possess and the potential force they could be.

“Once we started getting our offloading game going and running off each other, we started being more positives, we carried, we got over the gain line and that’s when we looked our best, but obviously that first 25 cost us,” said Frost.

Admitting that it’s not an ideal start to the season and that it’s all to play for against Jersey, Frost says Scottish are looking to the Jersey game to right the wrongs of their previous results.

“We know what they’re going to come with, a big physical pack so we need to match them at the set piece and then hopefully bring our backs in to play.

“We lost the breakdown battle (against Nottingham), our ball was slow and we never challenged their ball and so they were on the front foot. We need to change that.”

With the season only three games in Frost has not let the defeats dampen spirits in camp however and is confident the tartan blue outfit will turn a corner.

“It’s a long season with a lot of games to play, the results haven’t gone the right way for us so far but we can put that right this Saturday and then we’ll be on the right path.”
