Thomas Frank aimed a thinly veiled swipe at one Cardiff City player after Brentford’s 2-2 draw in South Wales.

The Bees boss travelled back along the M4 a frustrated figure after seeing goals from Luca Racic and Bryan Mbeumo wiped out by two Bluebird headers before the break.

Junior Hoilett and Joe Ralls secured a point for Neil Harris’s men but Frank felt one incident marred the spectacle.

Will Vaulks’ retaliation to Christian Norgaard’s fine tackle in front of the dug-out caused both sets of coaching teams to square-off.

Incensed, Frank remonstrated with the officials and Vaulks before having a ‘debate’ with Bluebird forward Callum Paterson.

Frank pulled no punches in assessing the incident which referee Simon Hooper ultimately allowed to go unpunished, and admitted he didn’t see eye-to-eye with one City player.

“I could maybe name one player in the Cardiff side who’s always trying to wind people up, I know that’s part of the game but Vaulks is not like that,” Frank said.

“I said to Vaulks at the end; ‘you’re a very good player, and not a player like that, because he’s not a dirty player.

“I think the yellow card he took later in the game was perfect, professional.

“I like that, but this (reaction to Norgaard) was a red card.

“Neil Harris, I like Neil very much, we have a good relationship, he said it’s a red card.

Wimbledon Times:

Probed if it was Paterson that he was referring to the Bees boss replied: “I’ll let you be the judge of that!”

Frank was seen trying to speak to Paterson at full time, but the striker gave the manager short shrift and headed down the tunnel.

“I just wanted to say thank you for the game, he didn’t want to say thank you to me!” joked Frank.
