Thomas Frank revealed his pride in his players fight in their 1-1 draw with Millwall at The Den.

Josh Da Silva’s superb equaliser cancelled out Lee Gregory’s close-range opener inside 20 minutes before Henrik Dalsgaards 35th minute red car.

Down to ten-men Frank praised his side’s passion despite having little to play.

“It was a proper Championship game,” said Frank.

“It was easy not to want to run when it’s not 11 v 11, against a team, against Millwall at The Den, a place we know is a difficult to play.

“I’m proud we showed we play for Brentford, the shirt, the team, the club and that’s what we try and ingrain in them.

“Every game we go out there and play for something, maybe not promotion, not relegation, but something.”

Playing a man short for the best part of an hour, Frank restrained himself from making immediate changes, both in personal and tactically.

“The mentality and attitude was brilliant throughout,” Frank continued.

“We still had a high line and still tried to play and I think it was a deserved point and we had chances to take the win.

“Some of the issues this season is we haven’t been consistent enough defensively, so if we look at that I’m pleased and proud of the boys for what they did for 60 minutes under extremely difficult circumstances.”

Da Silva

Former Arsenal youngster Da Silva was singled out once again for his starring role in the draw, capped with his first professional goal, a sumptuous long-range left footed strike from all of 25-yards.

“He played like a man today,” Frank said of the 20-year-old midfielder.

“He’s young but he’s growing in to it.

“He played with a bit about him, strong on the ball, he still needs to defend better, but that’s a work in progress.

"But what a left foot, we see that every day in training, I had no doubt he can do it."
