Rovers bounced back on Monday night, when back on familiar territory they turned in an accomplished performance to see off Guildford City 4-1 in the Southern Combination Challenge Cup.

A bright start saw the hugely impressive Neset Bellikli score twice in the opening ten minutes. Firstly firing home a low right foot drive and good work in the middle of the park, and the gliding passed four would be challenges before playing a neat one-two with Marlon Pinder and driving beyond the keeper - albeit via a slight deflection.

Rovers continued to dominate, Ollie Twum saw a shot blocked and a succession of corners were well defended. At the other end, Craig Bradshaw and his backline were relatively untroubled, although Matt Tanton was kept on his toes by the always lively Eli Ogunseye.

It was 3-0 just after the half hour when Bellikli threaded a wonderful through ball to Josh Uzun who calmly fired beyond the keeper.

Guildford started the second half brightly, looking for that early goal to get them back in the game, and a low strike by Daniel Band bought a great save out of Craig Bradshaw low down to his right.

Rovers increased their lead ten minutes into the half, Farrell split the backline and found Bellikli, and left one on one there was only one outcome and Bellikli sealed his hat-trick with a low finish.

Rovers continued to press, and the lively Twum was twice on the receiving end of poor challenges. Guildford to their credit never threw the towel in and were rewarded in the 86th minute when Rovers were caught overplaying, and Benga Ogunseye fired home from close range. The visitors almost pulled another back with the last play of the game, when a powerful Bobby Webbe header was superbly saved by Bradshaw.

Rovers now progress to a home Quarter Final against Dorking Wanderers Reserves (from the Combined Counties Division 1)
