Here’s how the Crystal Palace players rated in their 1-0 win at home to Newcastle.

Vicente Guaita - 8

Wasn’t called upon very often as Newcastle were poor in attack today, but did well when he was. Spaniard kept his first clean sheet since the 0-0 draw away at Watford back in December.

Joel Ward - 7

Did well defensively and linked up well with Ayew to create a number of attacks for Palace.

Scott Dann - 8

Returned to the starting line-up for the first time since December against Brighton. It was a good return to the starting eleven and the veteran nearly scored from a header in the first-half.

Gary Cahill - 8

Solid defensive display. Was unlucky not to score in the first half with a header from a corner.

Patrick van Aanholt - 9

Great performance from the Dutchman. Looked threatening going forward. Linked up well with Zaha down the left hand side. Superb free-kick to secure the win for Palace.

Cheikhou Kouyaté - 8

Driving force in the Palace midfield. The Senegalese international had some great attacking runs and supported the forwards well.

James McArthur – 8

Worked tirelessly all game as he so often does. Hard to ever fought the Scottish international. Although he’s not the most exciting player to watch, he gets the job done.

James McCarthy – 7

A steady game for the Irishman. Combined well with fellow central midfielders, and his defensive abilities allowed Kouyaté to get forward and join the Palace attack.

Wilfried Zaha – 7

The Eagles star always looks threatening going forward and is always at the heart of a Palace attack. Another good game for the player, who like in every game found himself being hacked down constantly by opposition players leaving him frustrated.

Jordan Ayew – 7

Although he looks frustrated out on the wing at times, the Ghana international looks threatening when he is able to come inside and get involved in the game. Had some good chances to score today and perhaps should have scored.

Christian Benteke – 7

The forward kept his place in the starting eleven today after his goal last time out away at Everton. He looks uncomfortable in front of goal and squandered a number of opportunities. The Belgian striker works hard off the ball, and did well to hold the play up both his strength and aerial presence.

Cenk Tosun – 6

Came on with only a few moments to go and as such rarely featured.

Jairo Riedewald – 6

Like Tosun, came on in the last few minutes of the game.
