Here's how we rated Charlton's players in their 2-1 defeat to Preston North End.

Dillon Phillips - 5 - Would not blame him for either goal, however, had a couple slip-ups when called into action - which was quite rare. Spilled a pair of Scott Sinclair strikes before finding himself in danger under a high ball from a corner late on.

Adam Matthews - 6 - Crossing was not great. Sinclair was stationed on his side of the pitch but the winger did more damage coming in centrally than from out wide.

Tom Lockyer - 6 - Nearly got caught out early on, following Williams' poor cross-field pass, but nothing came of it. Typical performance overall.

Deji Oshilaja - 5 - It's not entirely clear who was responsible for Patrick Bauer, but both he and Sarr looked to have played a part in the goal. He appeared to be in no man's land as Bauer came charging in. Replaced with Albie Morgan.

Naby Sarr - 5 -  As mentioned above, replays are not clear on who was at fault. Was Bauer meant to be marking him? Otherwise, he had a couple of defensive scares but managed to avoid a costly error.

Alfie Doughty - 7 - Did really well to set up the first goal by getting the better of Darnell Fisher before teeing up Green for a close-range finish. Made some good forward runs but Preston could have done better to exploit him defensively. Crossing was hit-and-miss.

Ben Dempsey - 5 - Another game under the 20-year-old's belt since being called up, coming in a difficult environment. Could have been a little more composed on the ball.

Darren Pratley - 6 - Patrolled the centre of midfield and broke up Preston's attacks to help send Charlton on their way going forward. A valuable leader in the middle of the park.

Jonny Williams - 5 - It was clear Williams is not up to speed yet after having been out for two months through injury, which is understandable. While he is regaining sharpness, he did put Charlton on the back foot with a poor pass. Replaced with Erhun Oztumer.

Josh Davison - 6 - Had a good chance in the second half but failed to connect probably with the ball for a volley. It proved to be the best opportunity he had in the game. Otherwise, his hold-up play was okay. Still learning the ropes of the Championship at 20.

Andre Green - 7 - Did brilliantly to put himself in the right place at the right time for the early goal, but after that he struggled to exert any further influence on the game. He, like Williams, looks like he is still regaining full match sharpness after struggling for playing time at Preston. Replaced with Tomer Hemed.
