Charlton were denied a crucial win at the death after Keane Lewis-Potter’s injury time header sneaked past Dillon Phillips to level the tie at 2-2.

Darren Pratley’s first half header and Naby Sarr’s close range strike looked to have seemingly ended the Addicks nine game winless run and halted a four-game losing streak, despite Jarrod Bowen briefly levelling the tie.

Lewis-Potter’s strike at the death however makes the draw feel like defeat, and dejection was clear to see on the faces of Lee Bowyer and his men at the final whistle.

The manner of the draw was heart breaking but there were positives to take from the fixture.

The Addicks faithful are fully aware of the difficulties facing the club, with a mountain of injuries and (currently) the lowest budget in the division, survival was always their goal.

Knowledgeable, despite the players feeling like it was a defeat, many fans were quick to look at the positives, knowing how vital the point may become the end of the season.

One player who had come in for criticism this season was Jonathan Leko.

The attacker on-loan from West Bromwich Albion has been ‘missing’ rather than ‘hitting’ in recent weeks with many pointing to his lack of end product, his poor tracking back and his on field disinterested demeanour.

Against Hull however he showed just why Bowyer has kept faith in him.

A sublime assist was the icing the cake of a performance that many ranked as his best in a Charlton shirt.
