Crystal Palace have reportedly set an £80million price tag on Wilfried Zaha in anticipation of January interest from Chelsea.

Buoyed by the Court of Arbitration for Sport’s lifting of a two-window transfer ban on the Stamford Bridge outfit, it’s believed Frank Lampard will be given a £150million war-chest to keep pace with those at the top of the division.

According to The Guardian, Chelsea are ‘giving him (Zaha) strong consideration’ this January with Lampard revealing he is eager to add strength in the attacking third.

Zaha, 27, signed a deal last season to keep him at Selhurst Park until 2023, and similar to the summer window they won’t be accepting an offer lower than they feel worthy of their prize asset.

The Ivorian made it clear he was eager to leave in search of Champions League football but saw Palace reject bids from Arsenal and Everton despite a transfer request being submitted.

It’s been mooted that despite the hefty purse Chelsea hold they are unwilling to match Palace’s valuation but would be open to a player-plus-cash offer.

With Roy Hodgson forever keen to land a striker to ease his goal scoring issues, Chelsea’s out of favour forwards Olivier Giroud or Michy Batshuayi could find themselves used as makeweights in the deal.
