Here's how we rated Crystal Palace's players in their defeat to Tottenham.

Vincente Guaita – 4

Probably could have done better with every one of Tottenham's four goals. Was beaten at his near post for two of them and winced away for another. Poor performance.

Joel Ward – 5

Misjudged the flight of Aurier’s crosses leaving him scrambling back for the majority of Tottenham’s goals.

Gary Cahill – 6

His experience prevailed in the second-half as he managed to clear his lines and stop Harry Kane from getting on the scoresheet. But his adequate performance was not backed up by his team-mates.

Mamadou Sakho – 5

It was his first start of the season after overcoming a pre-season injury and boy, did it show. Son, Lamela, and Kane all ran rings around him all afternoon, I wouldn’t be surprised if he came off dizzy afterward.

Patrick van Aanholt – 3

Scored the own-goal which really summed up his performance. Drifted inside too often allowing Aurier to exploit the space down the right flank and get two assists.

Andros Townsend – 5

Carried out van Arnholt’s defensive duties for him at times but should have shown more desire to charge down Aurier and Kane for Spurs’ 3rd and 4th goals.

Luka Milvojevic – 5

Failed to dominate the midfield like he usually does. Made the wrong decision at every given opportunity.

Chiekhou Kouyate – 4

If you see missing posters of Kouyate around North London this afternoon don’t be alarmed. It is just because he failed to show up for work this afternoon despite playing the full 90 minutes.

Jefferey Schlupp – 4

The same of what has been said of Kouyate can also be applied here. Forgot he was even on the pitch.

Wilfred Zaha – 4

Not the same player he was last season. He wants a move and you can see it in his performances, still without a goal and does not possess that flair that used to frighten defences.

Jordan Ayew – 6

A very frustrating afternoon for the striker. Had no service and was chasing down shadows all game. Albeit, he won the majority of his duels and should be happy with his performance.

Subs:

Christian Benteke - 4

Failed to make an impact.

James McCarthy - 4

Replaced Kouyate but there was little difference the two of them.

Victor Camarasa - 5
