What we believe is the last remaining portion of the boundary wall (probably dated 1770) of the old orchard wall of the Spencer estate in Wimbledon was demolished this morning.
Local residents had done some research on the wall and the evidence had been submitted to Merton Council. Historic England were due to look at the application for listing on the afternoon of Monday 24th July but all that is left is a pile of rubble.
