The annual Get Active Wandsworth Festival takes place again this year on Saturday 15th July, 12-5pm at King George’s Park. The fun family festival is free and this year is planned to be another exciting day of activities for all the family.

At the event you will find a range of sports and activities including local sports clubs, bouncy castles, children’s rides, all star tennis taster sessions, a climbing wall, athletics track activities and much more. The highlight has to be the mascot race at 3pm which will be started by no other than Southside’s very own Kids Club mascot, Sammy!

Since it began in 2010, the Get Active Wandsworth Festival (GAWF) has inspired over 35,000 people to become healthy and active. The festival was established to capitalise on the ‘feel good’ effect from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Hundreds of providers from all over Wandsworth attend the festival showcasing the very best the borough has to offer in sport and physical activity, and it’s absolutely free.  For more information, visit the website at www.enablelc.org/active

The Get Active Wandsworth festival is delivered by Enable Leisure & Culture on behalf of Wandsworth Council.

Southside’s General Manager, Neil Churchill said, “The Get Active Wandsworth Festival is a fun way to inspire children and families to get out into their local area and take part in the huge range of activities that are taking place right on our door step.

"We are pleased so many of our retailers are also involved in this year’s event including easyGym, Cotswold Outdoor, Nuffield, Decathlon, Cineworld, Waitrose and Planet Organic and of course our very own Sammy!”
