SLEEPLESS nights could be improved by baby yoga, claims a therapist.

Deborah Crossley is starting classes for parents and their babies at the Red Onion Studios.

She is a fully qualified therapist and has been doing the postures and exercises with her six-month-old son, Dillon Cartwright.

Parents will be taught safe exercises and stretches to help babies strengthen their muscles and put the foundations in place for good posture in their growing years.

Miss Crossley said: "The babies enjoy it and it also gives parents a good chance to have a dedicated time to relax and enjoy getting to know their children.

"Some people like to treat almost as a meditation, others sing to their babies while they do the stretches. It is a unique experience."

The sessions also give parents a chance to make new friends and to enjoy some time out of the home.

After training at Peter Walker's International School of Baby Massage and Movement, Miss Crossley found the skills she had learned helped her son.

She explained: "These sessions help because they introduce new, safe ways of being with the baby."

Miss Crossley will start the classes at the Red Onion, Hatherley Mews, Walthamstow, on Monday nights from the end of this month.

A course of four costs £50.
