A beloved voice of the terraces has fallen silent.

AFC Wimbledon has paid tribute to long-serving commentator and supporter Michael 'Mikey T' Taliadoros, who died after decades of dedicated service to the club.

Mr Taliadoros attended 2,010 consecutive men’s first-team matches between 1989 and 2026 and oversaw the inception of Radio WDON soon after the AFC Wimbledon era began.

An AFC Wimbledon spokesman said: "Everyone at AFC Wimbledon was immensely sad to hear of the passing of our dear friend and colleague Michael ‘Mikey T’ Taliadoros."

"To many he will be affectionately remembered for not only his incredible character and infectious personality, but also his skills behind the microphone as part of our matchday commentary team in the press box."

He was known as the "voice of all things Wimbledon," calling some of the club’s most memorable moments, including play-off final victories at Wembley and the club’s return to Plough Lane.

His contribution stretched far beyond the press box as he was also a long-time supporter who first fell in love with the club in 1980.

The club said plans for a matchday tribute would be confirmed following discussions with the family.
