One of our leavers this summer is training for her commercial pilot's licence. Another has gone to Oxford to read music. A third is starting medicine at Newcastle. Between them, our Year 13 girls have scattered to Bristol, Exeter, LSE, Manchester and Nottingham, to study everything from economics to linguistics to product design.
Our vision talks about leaders, team-players, innovators, trailblazers, disruptors and creators, which is a long way of saying we would rather a girl chased the thing she actually loves.
Our Year 13 girls achieved our best A Level results in nearly a decade this summer and our Year 11 girls followed with one of the strongest sets of GCSE results in the school's history. What pleased us most though was not the headline, it was that both year groups travelled remarkably far beyond what their own starting points predicted. They achieved ambitiously, beyond what they had thought possible, which is our vision written out in full.
That happens because we know them. As a through school for girls from three to 18, we have the enormous advantage of time. A young woman heading off to university may well have arrived here carrying a book bag she could barely see over and her reception teacher will still stop her in the corridor to ask how she is getting on. Knowing a girl that well means you can tell when she needs pushing and when she needs a quiet word. Our staff call it stretch, not strain.
The confidence you see at 18 is built a long way upstream. This September our prep school launches Fearless Futures, an enrichment programme for Reception to Year 6 covering financial literacy, resilience, leadership, sustainability, the expressive arts and STEAM alongside a properly rigorous curriculum.
We were Highly Commended for SEND Provision in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026, and 98 per cent of our prep parents agree that their child is happy at school. As one parent wrote this year: "The school deeply works to the individual needs of each child. Our daughter feels super confident and supported and as a result her progress has really increased."
We open our 140th year this term, and our ambition for your daughter is no smaller than it was in 1887. Kindness, respect, integrity and compassion are how we get her there, and it starts with knowing her. Our motto is Towards Wisdom Unafraid, and we mean the unafraid part.

Group tours for parents run throughout the term at the prep school, and on Saturday, October 3, we are hosting a free Fringe Film Festival for local families.
