STAFF at a Blakedown hairdressing salon are buzzing with excitement after it made the finals of a prestigious awards for its "innovative ideas and stunning salon space.”

Stacey Mcknight Hairdressing is through to the finals of the Salon Design Award sponsored by Dyson Technology Ltd, at HJ’s British Hairdressing Business Awards 2024.

The salon opened during the Covid pandemic and has gone on to become a successful business.

Owner Stacey Mcknight said: "We're absolutely thrilled to have reached the finals of such a prestigious event.

"We poured our heart and soul into the salon design - it's been a labour of love and we are so proud of what we have created.

"Being recognised at this level is truly the icing on the cake."

Now the team is gearing up to compete for the top honours at the 25th British Hairdressing Business Awards, set to take place on Monday July 1, at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge.

Jayne Lewis-Orr, Executive Director of the British Hairdressing Business Awards, said: "The awards celebrate the talented and passionate businesses and individuals who contribute to the greatness of British hairdressing.

"Once again, our judging panel faced an outstanding group of candidates.

"To make the Salon Design shortlist, finalists must impress us with inspirational mood boards, a compelling design brief, and insights into how they tackled challenges during the project.

"Stacey Mcknight Hairdressing should take pride in being acknowledged for their innovative ideas and the creation of a stunning salon space.”

A total of 17 trophies will be awarded, recognising excellence in various categories such as best team, innovation, and customer care.
