Some of the UK's best Sunday roasts can be found right here in the capital.

In fact, four of the top ten locations recognised for exceptional roast dinners are in London, more than any other city.

The well-loved British staple, tracing its roots back to the 15th century, stands strong today in restaurants that vary from casual local pubs to Michelin-starred restaurants.

Five London restaurants made the list from enjoytravel.com of 20 locations nationwide that offer the best Sunday roasts.

Other places that made it to the top include pubs Haworth, Manchester and Edinburgh.

The best places for a Sunday roast in London:

Owl and Pussycat, Shoreditch

In 11th place is the Owl and Pussycat in Shoreditch.

The pub is a standout for its superb Sunday roasts, complete with fluffy Yorkshires, crispy potatoes and juicy cuts of beef, lamb, or chicken.

Roast prices range from £18 to £20.

The Old Nun’s Head, Nunhead Green

The Old Nun’s Head in Nunhead Green takes 8th place.

While this cheery London pub is also a popular spot for drag nights and cocktails, their perfectly balanced servings of gravy-covered meat and vegetables are what they are most famous for.

Their roast dinners are "unpretentious, while still being incredibly high-grade".

The pricings range from £16 to £18, while a children’s roast is available at £10.
