The London Eye was closed due to adverse weather conditions from Storm Henk yesterday.

At around 4.30pm on Tuesday, January 2, the London Eye temporarily closed.

An X user said that the closure was due to a hatch that flew off of their pod while they were aboard the London Eye.

They said: “The maintenance crew dealing with the hatch that blew off our pod on the London Eye during Storm Henk.

“They have now closed the London Eye.

“It was terrifying.”

The official London Eye X account released a statement when the closure was in place.

They have apologised for any inconvenient and told customers that they could rebook their ride or get a refund.
