A person has died after an incident at a train station in Mitcham.

A casualty on the tracks was reported to police at Mitcham Eastfields station just before 6pm yesterday (December 21).

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Mitcham Eastfields railway station just before 6pm yesterday (21 December) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
